Cruises around the Maldives

For a chance to visit tiny remote deserted islands as well as bigger resorts such as Kuramathi, take a week long cruise on the Atoll Explorer, and if desired a second week at an island of your choice.

During the day on visits to the islands lie back and soak up the sun with a chilled drink or enjoy a variety of water sports including unrivalled diving and snorkeling with incredible marine life such as whale sharks, turtles, morays, lobster, octopus and stingrays. There is even a visit to a spa where you can be pampered in one of the spa pavilions under the palm trees whilst experiencing traditional herbal treatments and beauty therapies.

In the evenings the laid back atmosphere on board encourages a social atmosphere. Enjoy an underwater slideshow, night fishing, traditional Maldivian boduberu dance show, and with a live band playing under the clear starlight skies on the last night it truly makes the perfect finale to a perfect week.

Board basis is all-inclusive. During the day you either have an island picnic or dine on the ship. In the evening, you may be eating on a deserted island at night under the stars. There are BBQs and on the last day a special Captain's dinner. The atmosphere on board is laid back, and so casual dress is fine for dinner.

Here is a typical itinerary…

Monday - Arrive in the Maldives and transfer to the Atoll Explorer, your floating home for the next seven nights.

Tuesday - Today sail to Laguna Maldives. Time to go ashore for snorkeling. Enjoy an evening slide show.

Wednesday - Visit Maadhoo, a desert island for snorkeling or windsurfing and in the evening enjoy night fishing.

Thursday - Sail to the tranquil deserted island of Vashugiri. Snorkel, dive or sunbathe from this beautiful island. Tonight enjoy a beach barbeque.

Friday - Cruise to the deserted island of Anbara for snorkeling, swimming or windsurfing. In the evening enjoy Bodu Beru - traditional dancing to drums.

Saturday - Sail to Thinadhoo and continue to the fishing village of Keyodhoo for late afternoon shopping. The captain also hosts dinner this evening.

Sunday - Sail in the morning across the Channel to Kurumba. Enjoy a visit to Male, the capital, for sightseeing and shopping. A live band will play on board this evening.

Monday - Disembark the Atoll Explorer for your flight back to London, or extend your stay in the Maldives for a week. Due to times and distances, the best island is the beautiful first class resort of Full Moon.
